How to Speed Up Your PC Without Upgrades

There's a big huge myth that many computer experts will happily tell you all day long. When your PC is slow, one of the first things they will say is that you will need to 'upgrade' your machine to run faster. Although this is technically true, there is a lot cheaper and easier way to make your PC fast again, without having to spend $100's on some upgrades that only the computer experts can put in for you.

You see, computers are a lot like motor cars. They are constantly being reinvented and developed. Moore's law actually states that the processing power (speed) of computers will actually double every year... and so far, that's been exactly true. This means that every year, a new computer is going to be released which is twice as fast as your current one. Now, if we take the word of the computer shop experts here, this would mean that your computer will automatically get slower just because a new model is out... and that an expensive upgrade is the only way to make it fast again.

This couldn't be father from the truth. Computers are like motor cars - they keep running at the same (or similar) speeds throughout their lives, regardless of how many newer, faster models are out. The problem isn't with the computer's hardware (bits and pieces), but is with the inner system, or Windows. Just like in a car, your computer only runs slower because it gets jammed up and clogged from the inside, with the files and folders that you make.

There's actually a more simple reason why your computer is running slow - the 'registry'. This is the central database which Windows stores all the settings and data that your computer has, and is what causes your machine to run slow. You see, the registry is constantly being updated and added-to. Every time you use your computer, your system's registry is being chopped and changed... and this actually leads to certain difficulties which can slow your computer down a lot.

Every time your computer changes files inside your registry, it actually corrupts or damages some files in there. And each corrupt file actually makes your computer slow down a little each time, as Windows tries longer to find it. Luckily, there's a real easy way to fix this problem. You just need to use a registry cleaner to go through the registry and fix all the problems it finds.
